And they're in
Here are some more photos of the extension progress. Last post was January, the windows and doors and downstairs floor were in place. The big room downstairs went from this:

to this:

Not so very different, but the walls are insulated, the ceiling is in, the lights work, the far wall is done, the cables for the power are all in place. This room is not finished but is definitely being lived in - we have mirrors and a ballet barre for the girls, and a table tennis table for me and Seiko.
The sunroom downstairs went from this:

to this:

I feel this is a more dramatic improvement. This room is all plastered out, painted, skirting boards, doors, lights, power, basically finished barring a few wee finishing bits that we never quite managed before Seiko’s Mum came to stay a couple of weeks ago.
Upstairs we have the girl’s new bedroom. I thought this was almost finished in January. It felt like that given that all the structure was built and the rain was staying on the outside. My friend Audrey laughed at me when I said it was almost done, all it needed was the walls, ceiling and floor.
Anyway, it looked like this in March (please excuse the gormless numpty getting in the way of your view of the structure and insulation):

and two days ago the girls moved in to this:

And in the space of half a day it looked like this:

Ah well, unlike their old room, it has their books and a couch in there, and you can still see a few bits of the floor!
So, there you are. A milestone has been reached. Now all that is left to do it rebuild the stairs, reinstate the living room, render the outside of the house (front and back), gutters and rainwater drains, finish the playroom, fit a new window in the spare room, renovate or replace the windows in the bathroom and landing, get a new consumer unit fitted, install the ethernet end points, and build a patio and sort the garden, and I’ll be able to start planning the next phase.
