Being open-minded
When I was 29 I read in NewScientist that by the age of 30, your attitudes are set for life, and rarely change after that age.
I spent the rest of the year attempting to cultivate open-mindedness so that when my brain locked down on my 30th birthday, I would be open-minded and receptive to new ideas for the rest of my life.
Not only do I think being open-minded is a good idea (although obviously I'll consider arguments that it isn't), but I am also a fan of irony.
So if you catch me being closed-minded, let me know, and I'll try to look at whatever it is from a different perspective.
